Auditions for NEWSIES will be held during the afternoon & evening of May 10 and 15; with dance auditions and callbacks later on the same audition afternoon/evening, and Production Interviews being held the morning/afternoon of May 11. Auditions/Interviews are open to actors/technicians 18 & older.
Please email Alluvion Stage Company (firstname.lastname@example.org) to schedule an audition or interview time. If you are unable to attend the auditions you may submit a video (details below) and if you are unable to attend the interviews, you may request a phone interview. Auditions will be held in Rehearsal Room 2 (Green Hall 1004) of Liberty University's Theatre Arts Department. Dance auditions will be held in Rehearsal Room 1 (Green Hall 1008) at 4 and 9 p.m. each day. Not all dance auditions will be both tap and jazz, but please come prepared for both. Production Interviews will be held in the conference area in the main office of the Theatre Arts Department.
If you are unable to attend the auditions in person, you may email Alluvion with your resume, headshot, and a link to a digital audition (YouTube or Vimeo preferably), by 11:59 p.m. on May 19.
Include in All Video Auditions: 1 song and one monologue (see below for details), 32 counts of tap, and 32-64 counts of jazz/broadway style of dance, as well as anything else you would like to show (i.e. Acrobatics, juggling, etc.).
There are 25 adult roles available to be cast (18 men and 7+ women). Some women could play male newsies, and some male roles are non-dancing.
Requirements for Auditions:
· Headshot & resume with professional theater/film/commercial experience listed
· 30 seconds of a musical comedy monologue
· 16 measures of a classic Broadway song
· Tap and Jazz shoes for dance auditions

If you are unable to attend the interviews, please email your resume and cover letter explaining the position(s) you prefer to the address above. If necessary, the Assistant Production Manager will conduct a phone interview. Production positions are available in the areas of Stage Management, Props, Wardrobe, Hair/Makeup, Automation, Rigging, Lights, Sound, and Running Crew.
A total of 14 production positions are available for hire.
Requirements for Production Interviews:
· A hard-copy resume is required at the time of interview.
· A production portfolio is recommended, but not required.
